« Bobbin » tank 

Projet de 1939

En 1939 Henri Bloch proposa d'équiper un char d'un « tapis roulant » pour contrecarrer des  obstacles anti-chars de type « hérissons ». Comme le montre la vue de dessus il y a un « tapis roulant » par chenille ce qui permet  à la tourelle d'utiliser ses armes avec un minimum d'angles morts. Les tambours avant et arrière sont articulés de manière à permettre d'attaquer l'obstacle suivant l'angle le plus approprié.
Cette technique fut reprise quelques années plus tard par la 79th division blindée anglaise sous forme de dévideurs de tapis « Bobbin ».
Le projet paraît basé sur un dérivé du char FT17 , FT Kégresse ou Renault UT .

In 1939 Henri Bloch offered to fit a tank with a « rolling mat » to overcome « hedgehog » type anti-tank obstacles. As can be seen in the plan view there is a mat by track so that the turret can still use its weapons with minimal dead angles. Front and rear rollers are movable so to approach the obstacle with the best angle.
The rolling mat idea was actually materialized a few years later by the British 79th armoured division through the « Bobbin » system.
The french project appears based on a derivative of the Renault FT17 , either the FT Kégresse or the Renault UT
