The SAM-2 missile got its celebrity from the Cuba crisis and the downing of Gary Powers'U2 reconnaissance aircraft . Afterwards it became a mainstay of the various wars in Middle East . So kit manufacturers did take notice (a rare occurrence for missile kits)
